To help the child understand the process of addition is simply the combining of equal or unequal quantities to form one large quantity.
Age:
4.5 - 5 years old
Material:
- A substantial quantity of Bead Material
- Two sets of Small Number Cards (up to 9000)
- One set of Large Number Cards, keep it on a table
- Two trays, each with a small bowl for the units
- Two small mats
- One larger mat
- An addition sign (+)
- One black cardboard strip or felt line to delineate the question from the answer
